Currently the department has a staff of 108 among whom 7 are professors, 40 are associate professors, 44 are lecturers, 22 are PhDs, 81 are masters, and 8 are “outstanding young teachers of Hunan Province”.
Over the past few years, all academics have devoted themselves to scientific researches and made remarkable achievements in their research fields. They have been undertaking 150 projects funded by governments at different levels and have more than 700 journal publications at home and abroad and 20 percent of those publications are reviewed by CSI, EI and ISTP. The academics have published 36 monographs, won 45 practical new-typed patents, 19 software copyrights and 5 provincial teaching awards.
In the aim of cultivating talents with research, innovation, management, and internationalization abilities, we attach great importance to improving the quality of teaching and to implementing a curriculum responsibility system. Our school offers one provincial excellence courses and nine campus excellence courses. We also focus on improving students’ practical skills and innovative ability. In recent years, our students have won the second prize of the international MCM Contest and the first prize of the National MCM contest; the first prize and the second prizes of the National and Provincial Undergraduate Electronic Design contests.
